We have the best team in the business! Each month you can meet one of our AWESOME employees who make our success possible! Get to know us by getting to know WHO we ARE! We are MRD!

The Getting to Know you questions

  • 1. First, tell us how long you’ve been at MRD?

  • A little over 4 years. I started Memorial Day weekend, 4 years ago.

  • 2. What do you like most about MRD?

  • I think the people! It is a very laid back, family atmosphere. I like the people.

  • 3. What is your proudest moment at MRD?

  • I think watching people reach their goals and the company reaching goals. I kind of get a buy in, self-appreciation/awareness of people achieving their personal and professional goals.

  • 4. What motivates you to work hard?

  • I think it just has always been my ethics, love of work and passion for Property Management. I have been in it for 35 years and held many positions so it’s kind of a passion. This is a little different than what I have done in the past. This is all numbers. So, I am kind of a number geek! I’m an Accountant so I like to play with numbers and see where they turn out and doing reports. That makes you work hard.

  • 5. Who is your hero?

  • My late stepdaughter, Katie.

  • 6. Best advice you have been given?

  • Always do the right thing. No matter what. It might put you in a bad situation but you should always stay with your ethics and do the right thing.

  • 7. If you could choose to do any job for a day, what would it be?

  • Driving a Tractor Trailer. I have always been fascinated with them, even when I was little, I used to make the models. I think that would be pretty neat. I love towing things behind my Jeep like a trailer. My wife laughs at me but I would like to be a truck driver for a day.

  • 8. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

  • I like Florida and I like Hawaii. I’ve been to both but somewhere warm away from the Michigan winters. Before I came here I was down in Atlanta and before that I was in Florida. I got used to the nice weather especially in the winter time. One of those two places, probably more Florida. Being in Hawaii, you kind of get Island Fever. I used to do racing and went there for the Iron Man.

  • 9. What was your childhood nickname?

  • It is still my nickname, Hep. During high school and college, no one ever called me by my first name so I probably wouldn’t have even answered to it back then.

  • 10. What's 3 things left on your bucket list?

  • 1. Retire! Retire with money!
    2. Just enjoy life with the family.
    3. Do some traveling.
I have done quite a bit in my life so I can’t think of anything major that I haven’t done. I mean I am not going to do any parachuting or skydiving! That’s out for me. I would like to go to Europe, like London and Paris.

  • 11. Favorite things to do on your days off?

  • If I ever get the chance, I like to golf and fish. Usually I go home on the weekends (Mark commutes back to his family in Indiana on the weekends), I spend most of the summer just working around the farm. Cutting grass and trees and taking care of stuff like that. Hanging by the pool and maybe getting fishing/golfing in if I can. That is where I am going next weekend with my brother in law, on a fishing/golfing trip south of Bloomington, Indiana!
